Princess is located in Ayios Andreas, Nicosia, on a plot with a narrow street frontage and enclosed by large cypress trees. The project called for six apartments, with those on the upper floor having their own private roof garden, and the ground floor apartment having its own pool. In order to be able to retain the trees and the sense of containment they provide, the ground plan was laid out in three blocks which followed the outline of the site, thus allowing each block a feeling of independence. The entrance is set back and is defined by a curved wall which acts as a barrier for the ground-floor flat. The blocks rotate around the lobby where a skylit staircase allows light to enter the lobby. The verandas overlook the trees and are set into the living spaces, thus blurring the clear definition between interior and exterior space.
